Action Research in EFL Learning and Teaching

Abstract

The increase of changes taking place in today’s’ English as a Foreign Language (EFL) classroom has faced today’s EFL teachers with various challenges in their endeavor to practice effective learning and teaching. Current studies show that to meet those challenges, AR is one of the powerful tools teachers can use. This article reviews and synthesizes current ideas and studies on AR to see its application in the EFL context. It is shown that action research empowers teachers to obtain knowledge through their practices and use it to improve their teaching skills. tIn addition, action research can be used to handle problems encountered in all aspects involved in the learning process.
