    4. I think they start their work from the bottom, they are doing what they love to start a business. For example, Walt Disney began his career with a director and finally made the famous cartoon character until now. They do not think about profit or loss when starting a business, but they first learn the business, inviting others to work together in building a business. And they are the ones who are not easily discouraged, as they start their business by working as a regular employee, and then grow the business by involving the community so that their hard work can be felt by many people and is still known today in the world.

First, The enterpreneurs succeeded in building something great out of nothing as an leader, but CEO they just continue what have been built by entrepreneurs
•The entrepreneurs provide working opportunities for many people, they can make a job vacancies for them who are jobless, on the other hand, the CEOs can’t do that
•The entrepreneurs help the nation’s economy run by the effort of their bussiness and their helping other jobless people to get the job can reduce the number of poverty of a nation that means also they help the nation’s economy run, but the CEOs cant do as much as the entrepreneurs.

    3. Americans prefer free enterprise because they like competition. In enterprise they can express their freedom in thinking and doing to get what they want to reach. As we know that most American are open-minded people so they like to do anything new followed their soul to get the freedom of creating something for their life. That’s why they prefer to enterprise.

    4. After studying the biography of Andrew Carnegie, Thomas Edison, Walt Disney, John D. Rockefeller, and Bill Gates, i conclude that they are heroes of America. They prove that the quote ‘from zero to hero’ is true. We know that all of them was nothing in the beginning. They were also rejected when trying to do something. But they did not give up. They still tried until someday the world acknowledged their effort as a great masterpieces and very useful things for people. characteristics described in Top
    Characteristics of Successful
People, and Revolutionized not only an
    industry, but also transformed
    the American culture.

  8. 1. Two words in order to understand the meanIng of business to Americans: They are private and profit. A contrast is often made between business, which is competitive, and government, which is monopoly. Theoretically, if one business tries to take unfair advantage of its customers, it will lose to a competing business which treats in customers more fairly. Where many businesses compete for the customers, they can not afford to give them inferior products or poor service.

    2. Because, the CEOs (Chief Executive Officers) of American cooperations acquire power and wealth, but they do not usually have the hero image of enterpreneurs because they are managing business that someone else started. So, Americans’ respect for their business institutions rises and falls in cycles, going back to the Industrial Revolution of the 1800s.

    3. Many Americans believe that competition is vitally important in preserving freedom. So closely is competitive business associated with freedom in the minds of most Americans believe that the term free enterprise, rather than the term capitalism, is most often used to describe the American business system.

Walt Disney is the leader of Walt Disney company which has been preeminent in the field of family entertainment, John D. Rockefeller is a leader Standard Oil Company, and Bill Gate is a chairman of Microsoft, the world’s largest personal-computer software company. All of them become heroes to the people because they succeed in building something great out of nothing. Other similarities, they bring improvement for the nation’s great industries and world. Also, they have power and wealthy. The last, their success stories inspire many people to get success in life. All of them are leader and successful entrepreneurs.

Competition protects the freedom of the individual by ensuring that there is no monopoly of power. Business is competitive, many Americans believe that it may be even more supportive of freedom than government, even though government leaders are elected by the people and business leaders are not. So closely is competitive business associated with freedom in the minds of most Americans that the term free enterprise, rather than the term capitalism, is most often used to describe the American business system.

    3. Because competitive business associated with freedom in the minds of most Americans that the term free enterprise, rather than the term capitalism, is most often used to describe the American business system.

    4. They create new ideas, technology, or content in fields such as science, education, design, the arts, and entertainment, or they engage in solving complex problems, in fields such as business, law, finance and health care.

  10. 1. Americans are aware that business institutions often do not live up up to ideals of competitions and support of freedom, equality of opportunity, and hard work. Americans sometimes believing that they are capable of putting profit before product safety or a cleaner environment and business is competition protects freedom of the individual by ensuring that there is no monopoly of power. It does not compete against each other to get profit.
    2. Entrepreneuers are succesful in business. The first reason is that they succesed in bulding somerthing great out of nothing. The second is they like the earlier hero of the frontier, was seen as a rugged individualist are now the CEOs (chief executive officers) of Americans corporations. 4. the biography of Andrew Carnegie, Thomas Edison, Walt Disney, John D. Rockefeller, and Bill Gates. All of them are leader and successful entrepreneurs. Andrew Carnegie is a leader of Carnegie Steel Company, Thomas Edison is a founder of General Electric, and many companies today owe their existence to him – Edison Electric, Con Edison and so on. Also, they have power and wealthy. The last, their success stories inspire many people to get success in life.

  11. 1. Because there are two words in order to understand the meaning of business to Americans. They are private and profit.Businesses are directly or indirectly owned and operated by private individuals in order to make a profit. In contrast to these privately owned, for-profit businesses, there are also public, government-owned-and-operated institutions and non profit organizations, such as churches, charities, and educational institutions. These organizations and institutions should not be confused with businesses.

    2. Because of the many beliefs that connect business to the wealth and the traditional values of the United States, people who are successful in business have sometimes become heroes to the American values in their purest form for a number of reasons. For example they succeed in building something great out of nothing. The people who, more than 100 years ago, built up the nations’ great industries, such as steel, railroads, and oil refining, were usually entrepreneurs.

    3. Because Free enterprise grows peacefully to meet growing market needs. Internal negotiations for local development are (mostly) in the open. You are likely a friend of a friend of the mayor. And if some newcomer wants to start a pig farm, you can make him settle downwind of your home. But you gotta love dem ribs. Basic Socialism.
    whereas Capitalist enterprise requires:
*An ever-growing consumer market. If no need exists, create it and exact the middle-man fee on a global scale. Nice work, if you get it.
*An ever-increasing money supply. Print money and float consumer loans. 10c return on the dollar until everyone’s bankrupt ain’t bad.
*De-socialization. Every man for himself. Your own car, etc. You get “news” and best prices from Our Media. You distrust your neighbor and think his plight is different from yours. You blame everyone but yourself for the injustice in the world.

    4. Based on the biography that I found there are some similarity in each them. They are the Greatest American Entrepreneurs and Business Professionals in the USA. It has been said that if you were born in the United States of America you were 90% of the way towards becoming a success. The US offers may opportunities through Freedom, Democracy and a culture of hard work and education that fosters growth and success. Some of the greatest minds and wealthiest people over the last 200 years have been born in and/or have lived in the United States of America. By showing how these Great Americans have worked and lived, it will give great incite into what it takes to become successful in the USA.

  12. 1. Because business is competitive, many Americans believe that it may be even more supportive of freedom than government. Many Americans believe that competition is vitally important in preserving freedom.

    2. Entrepreneurs more respected than CEOs because entrepreneurs manages business by themselves. CEOs don’t have the hero image of entrepreneurs because they are managing business that someone else started. Competitive business institutions have traditionally been respected in America.

    3. Americans prefer free enterprise rather than capitalism to call business system because American love freedom. Competitive business associated with freedom in the minds of most Americans that the term free enterprises, rather than the term capitalism, is most often used to describe the American business system.

4 The similar qualities I found in them is they are a successful famous entrepreneur. They create new ideas and entertainment. They will make positive impact on the economic future of creativity work. They will change the business world to the new sight.

  13. 1. Business is Competition worked hard. is that Americans view business as being more firmly based on the ideal of competition than most other institutions in society. Competition protects the freedom of the individual by ensuring that there is no monopoly of power.

    2. Because entrepreneurs successful in business have sometimes become heroes to the American people. Entrepreneurs provide examples of traditional American values in their purest form for a number of reasons. The first reason is that they succeed in building something great out of nothing. The people who, more than 100 years ago, built up the nation’s great industries, such as steel, railroads and oil refining, were usually entrepreneurs. The fact that these early entrepreneurs built great industries out of very little made them seem to millions of America like the heroes of the early frontier days. If are now the CEOs (chief executive officers) of Americans corporations. They acquire power and wealth but they don’t usually have to the hero image of entrepreneurs because they are managing business that someone else started.

    3. because one aspect of the great America dream is to rise from poverty or modest wealth to great wealth. In the United States, this has usually been accomplished through successful business careers.

    4. John D. Rockefeller was the richest man in history by most measures. He made his fortune by squeezing out efficiencies through horizontal and vertical integrations that made Standard Oil synonymous with monopoly, The 1920s found Walt Disney on the verge of creating a cultural juggernaut, Disney created a character inspired by the mice that roamed his office, Mickey Mouse, and made him the hero of “Steamboat Willie” in 1928. The commercial success of Mickey Mouse allowed Disney to create a cartoon factory with teams of animators, musicians and artists, Thomas Edison is a founder of General Electric, and many companies today owe to him, Andrew Carnegie is a leader of Carnegie Steel Company and Bill Gate is a chairman of Microsoft, the world’s largest personal-computer Not only did he fight and win the OS and browser wars, but Gates stored up the profits that came with the victories – and Microsoft’s dominance – to fund future fights and ventures. They are people worked hard and innovation made them as heroes for Americans.

  14. 1. Business is Competition encourages hard-work. the one who works harder is likely to win but the monopoly of power naturally possessed by the government eliminates competition, and thus the production and distribution process are seen inferior That’s why business is more supportive of freedom than government which is monopoly although government leaders are elected and business leaders are not.

    2. Entrepreneurs more respected than CEO because enterpreneurs started with very little money or power and ended up as the heads of huge companies that earned enormous fortuner. Whereas the CEO acquire power and wealth, but they don’t usually have the hero image of enterpreneur because they are managing business that someone else started

    3. Americans more dominant to choose from on the free enterprise capitalism. In the area of trade, we can find a competition in which every businessman to have it, he had to work hard and have independence. Everyone is welcome to build their own dream. Conversely, if the business system is capitalism, which means that anyone who strongest of the others, it will take over all of the business systems.

    4. Study the biography of Andrew Carnegie, Thomas Edison, Walt Disney, John D. Rockefeller, and Bill Gates. What similar qualities do you find in them?
In my opinion, they are entrepreneurs. They started their business from beginning and managed it. They succeed in building something great out of nothing. They worked hard and relied on theirselves rather than others. Their creativity and innovation made them as heroes for Americans.

    3. Americans prefer free enterprise rather than capitalism to call business system, because so closely is competitive business associated with freedom in the minds of most Americans. Many Americans believe that competition is vitally important in preserving freedom.

    4. The similarity between them is they success with their own strength. start from being ordinary people, becomes extraordinary people. they do their success not becuse they have been success already in the past

  16. 1) Business is competitive. Many Americans believe that competition is vitally important on preserving freedom. The government compete against each other business for profit, this is kind of monopoly.

    2) Entrepreneurs are more respected than CEOs because CEOs are managing business that someone else started, while entrepreneurs start business.
According to Arianna Huffington, CEOs took huge sums of money from the corporations they were managing and spent it on themselves. In addition, Enron stated CEOs’ lies to the stockholders, their criminal mismanagement of the business, and their cruel treatment of their own employees made Americans angry.

    3) Americans prefer free enterprise rather than capitalism. In free enterprise, we can find competition where whoever has a dream to enrich himself, he must work hard and has self-reliance. Everybody are welcome to build their own dream. In contrast, it will be impossible. If the business system is a capitalism, which means whoever strongest than others, he will take control all the business system.

    4) I find similar qualities in the biography of Andrew Carnegie, Thomas Edison, Walt Disney, John D.

  17. 1. According to President Coolidge, the business America is business. It means that business institutions are at the heart of the American way of life. One reason for this is that Americans view business as being more firmly based on the ideal of competition than most other institutions in society. Competition protects the freedom of the individual by ensuring that there is no monopoly of power. In contrast to one all-powerful government , many businesses compete against each other for profits. A contrast is often made between business, which is competitive, and government, which is a monopoly. Because business is competitive many Americans believe that it may be even more supportive of freedom than government, even though government leaders are elected by the people and business leaders are not. Many Americans believe that competition is vitally important in preserving freedom. So closely is competitive business associated with freedom in the minds of most used to describe the American business system.

    2. Because of the many beliefs that connect business to the wealth and the traditional values of the United States, people who are successful in business have sometimes become heroes to the American people. Entrepreneurs provide examples of traditional American values in their purest form for a number of reasons. The first reason is that they succeed in building something great out of nothing. The great entrepreneurs of the late nineteenth century built huge business organizations that needed new generations of business leaders to run them in the twentieth century. These leaders, sometimes referred to as organizational men (or women), “ are now the CEOs (chief executive officers) of Americans corporations. They acquire power and wealth but they don’t usually have to the hero image of entrepreneurs because they are managing business that someone else started. Thus, its the reasons why entrepreneurs more respected than CEOs.

    3. Because Americans prefer to the term free enterprise rather than capitalism is most often used to describe the American business system. Free enterprise is the backbone of the USA. It’s responsible for our remarkable consumer marketplace and military dominance of the world today. So, American business become the single largest market in the world or global marketplace.

    4. Based on the biography that I found there are some similarity in each them. They are the America’s greatest entrepreneurs business professionals in the USA. For example, Andrew Carnegie loved efficiency. His steel mills were always on the leading edge of technology. Carnegie also had an excellent sense of business timing, snapping up steel assets in every market downturn. And then, there is no doubt that Thomas Edison was brilliant, but it was his business sense, not his talent as an inventor, that clearly showed his intelligence. In addition, Walt Disney was a gifted animator for an advertising company in the late 1920s when he began creating his own animated shorts in a studio garage. One of his characters, Mickey Mouse, was inspired by the mice that roamed his office. Gates fought and won business wars over both browsers and computer operating systems, and he used the profits to fund future fights and ventures. John D. Rockefeller made his fortune by squeezing out efficiencies that made Standard Oil synonymous with monopoly — and significantly lowered fuel prices for everyday consumers. Thus, they are have an important role in business in the world especially in marketplace.

  18. Sorry sir for being late in posting this..
It’s because I no longer active in facebook..

    1. according to the American, business is a competition where the enterpreneur take a control in competition. freedom in business becomes their own power to do business. it is quite different with forms of government in which power in the government that determine the strength of a person.

2.because entrepreneur are in a higher level than the CEO. An entrepreneur provides land for the CEO. Jobs of the CEO more than a entrepreneur. And if there is no entrepreneur, no automatic is also CEO. Enterprenuer start to build the business from nothing. When nothing becomes something, on that time, CEO is available.

3.as in business, the greatness of an entrepreneur can be bypassed by other entrepreneurs. creative freedom that makes that opportunity exists. not because of the big names of a businessman, but how an entrepreneur can develop their business. that’s why they call it freedom. because everybody is welcome in business.

    4. The similarity between them is they success with their own strength. start from being ordinary people, becomes extraordinary people. they do their success not becuse they have been success already in the past,

    2. Entrepreneurs are people who succeed in building something small to large businesses. They started with very little money or effort, and ended up as the head of a large company who obtained great wealth. Employers often begins as people who have nothing, without the help of everything that shaped social legacy or inheritance money, they become “self-made” millionaries. Reasons Why Present Americans prefer Entrepreneurship, entrepreneurship is a means of achieving professional freedom and creativity, entrepreneurship provides good financial rewards, Entrepreneurship offers more time for their families, Entrepreneurship enable them to have more control over their career path (a realization of their disliking of submitting to a higher authority). Meanwhile, the CEO (Chief Executive Officer) only managing a business that someone else started. In conclusion, the entrepreneurs start and manage CEO. That’s the reason why employers are more respected than the CEO.

    4. Everything became a hero to people because they managed to build something great out of nothing. Another similarity, they bring improvements to major industrial nations and the world. Also, they have the power and rich. How can they do that? They can because they are independent and hardworking people. They did not stop until they can make the best of themselves. The same qualities of Andrew Carnegie, Thomas Edison, Walt Disney, John D. Rockefeller, and Bill Gates all of them are leaders and successful entrepreneurs. Andrew Carnegie was the leader of the Carnegie Steel Company, Thomas Edison is the founder of General Electric, and many companies now owe him. Walt Disney Walt Disney is a company leader who has excelled in the field of family entertainment, John D. Rockefeller was the leader of the Standard Oil Company, and Bill Gates is chairman of Microsoft, the world’s largest personal computer software company. They are successful people, they do not let obstacles stop them. And now, their success stories to inspire more people to get success in life.

  20. 1. How is business more supportive of freedom than government, although government leaders are elected and business leaders are not?
For Americans, business institutions are directly or indirectly operated and owned by private individuals (or group of individuals) run for making profit. Business does not include public, government-owned-and-operated institutions and non-profit organizations (church, charities, and educational institutions).
Americans view business as being more firmly based on competition than most other institutions in society. As competition is viewed as the major source of progress and prosperity by most Americans, competitive business institutions have been respected. Competition is the means by which other basic American values such as individual freedom, equality of opportunity, and hard work are protected. 2. Why are entrepreneurs more respected than CEOs?
Entrepreneurs are more respected than CEOs because CEOs are managing business that someone else started, while entrepreneurs start business.
According to Arianna Huffington, CEOs took huge sums of money from the corporations they were managing and spent it on themselves. 3. Why do Americans prefer free enterprise rather than capitalism to call business system?

  21. 1. Business is competitive but government is monopoly. Competition protects the freedom of individual by ensuring that there is no monopoly of power. The competition in business is also believed to strengthen the ideal of equality of opportunity. Business competition is also seen by most Americans as encouraging hard work. If two business people are competing against each other, the one who works harder is likely to win. That’s why business is more supportive of freedom than government which is monopoly although government leaders are elected and business leaders are not.

    2. Entrepreneurs are people who succeed in building something great out of nothing. They started with very little money or power and ended up as the heads of huge companies that earned enormous fortunes. Entrepreneurs often began as common people themselves; without the aid of inherited social title or inherited money, they became “self-made” millionaries. And this success is also due to the fact that entrepreneurs practice the American virtues of self-reliance and hard work. Meanwhile CEOs (Chief Executive Officer) only manage business that someone else started. In conclusion, entrepreneurs start and CEO manage. That’s the reason why entrepreneurs are more respected than CEO.

    3. Americans prefer free enterprise rather than capitalism. In free enterprise, we can find competition where whoever has a dream to enrich himself, he must work hard and has self-reliance. Everybody are welcome to build their own dream. In contrast, it will be impossible. If the business system is a capitalism, which means whoever strongest than others, he will take control all the business system.

    4. The similar qualities of Andrew Carnegie, Thomas Edison, Walt Disney, John D. Rockefeller, and Bill Gates are all of them are leader and successful entrepreneurs. Andrew Carnegie is a leader of Carnegie Steel Company, Thomas Edison is a founder of General Electric, and many companies today owe to him. Walt Disney is the leader of Walt Disney company which has been preeminent in the field of family entertainment, John D. Rockefeller is a leader Standard Oil Company, and Bill Gate is a chairman of Microsoft, the world’s largest personal-computer software company. All of them became heroes to the people because they succeed in building something great out of nothing. Other similarities, they bring improvement for the nation’s great industries and world. Also, they have power and wealthy. How could they do that? They could because they’re self-reliance people and also hard worker. They didn’t stop till they could do the best from themselves. They had a big dream and worked hard to make it came true, from zero to hero, from nobody to somebody. They didn’t let any obstacles stopped them. And now, their success stories inspire many people to get success in life.

  22. 1) Business is competitive. Many Americans believe that competition is vitally important on preserving freedom. The government compete against each other business for profit, this is kind of monopoly.
    2) Entrepreneurs more respected than CEO because enterpreneurs started with very little money or power and ended up as the heads of huge companies that earned enormous fortuner. Whereas the CEO acquire power and wealth, but they don’t usually have the hero image of enterpreneur because they are managing business that someone else started.
    3) Americans prefer free enterprise rather than capitalism because competitive business associated with freedom in the minds of most Americans. Competition in business is also believed to strengthen the ideal of quality of opportunity.
    4) The similar qualities I found in them is they are a successful enterpreneur heroes. They either create new ideas, technology, or content in fields such as science, education, design, the arts, and etc. They will likely have a strong, positive impact on the economic future of creativity work.

  23. 1. Business is more supportive of freedom than government, although government leaders are elected and business leaders are not. This is occurred because Americans’ view that business is more firmly based on competition than other institution. Dan business, not the government, is seen the best means of developing the nation.

    2. Entrepreneur more respected than CEOs because
    a. When they start their business is not working or thinking about its own satisfaction, but they try to involve others in their business. Therefore they are called as hero because they succeeded in building something great out of nothing, they provide working opportunities for many people, they help run the nation’s economy. While the CEOs started their business by first achieving a great position to continue their business in the larger scope.
    b. Entrepreneur started his business from scratch, while the CEOs only manage existing business and make it bigger scope
    c. But entrepreneurs have same similarity namely powerful and wealthy

    3. Reasons Why Present Americans prefer Entrepreneurship because entrepreneurship is a means of achieving professional freedom and creativity, entrepreneurship provides good financial rewards, entrepreneurship offers more time for their families, entrepreneurship enable them to have more control over their career path (a realization of their disliking of submitting to a higher authority).

    4. I think they start their work from the bottom, they are doing what they love to start a business. For example, Walt Disney started his career by becoming a director and finally made the famous cartoon character until now. They do not think about profit or loss when starting a business, but they first learn the business, invite others to work together in building a business. And those are the people that are not easily discouraged, as they start their business by working as a regular employee, and then grow the business by engaging people so that their hard work can be felt by many people and is still known today in the world.

  24. 1. Business is more supportive of freedom than government, although government leaders are elected and business leaders are not. This is occurred because Americans’ view business as being more firmly based on competition than other institutions. 2. Entrepreneurs are more respected than CEOs because some reasons. Firstly, entrepreneurs succeed in building something great out of nothing. They started with very little money or power and ended up as the heads of huge companies that earned enormous fortunes. These successful entrepreneurs are accepted as leader or hero. CEOs do not usually have the hero image because they are managing business that someone else started, so people view CEOs as manager not a leader or hero. Nevertheless, both of them acquire power and wealth. Secondly, entrepreneurs help nation’s economy run because they built up the nation’s great industries that means entrepreneurs provide working opportunities for many people. While most Americans view CEOs are less generous. Many highly paid CEOs have come under severe attack for their multi – million – dollar – a -year-salaries and their self serving management decisions. Some CEOs took huge sums of money from the corporations they were managing and spend it on themselves.

    3. Americans prefer free enterprise rather than capitalism to call business system, because so closely is competitive business associated with freedom in the minds of most Americans. Many Americans believe that competition is vitally important in preserving freedom.

    1. How is business more supportive of freedom than government, although government leaders are elected and business leaders are not?
    2. Why are entrepreneurs more respected than CEOs?
    3. Why do Americans prefer free enterprise rather than capitalism to call business system?
4, Study the biography of Andrew Carnegie, Thomas Edison, Walt Disney, John D. Rockefeller, and Bill Gates. What similar qualities do you find in them?

    Good Luck!

    1. American Business

(1)Business is more supportive of freedom than government. A business is directly or indirectly owned and operated by private individuals or group of individuals in order to make a profit. Business has been regarded by Americans as a competition that supports the freedom to achieve prosperity as much as much as possible. The business of business is business and the goal of business is to earn a profit in the provision of goods and service (Edwards, 2011). On the other hand, the business of government is service, well-managed, one hopes, and not wasteful, but never at a profit. Since government has complete control of something, especially an area of business, Americans believe businesses need some government regulation, although they may disagree on how much.

      (2) Entrepreneurs are more respected than CEOs. Entrepreneurs are persons who have possessions of a new enterprise, venture or ideas and are accountable for the inherent risks and the outcome of a product. Entrepreneurs are willing to launch a new venture or enterprise and accept full responsibility for the outcome. Entrepreneurs succeed in building something great out of nothing, they start with little money or power and end up as the heads of huge companies that earn enormous fortunes for them and for other people. Jean-Baptiste Say, economist is believed to have coined the word “entrepreneur” he defined an entrepreneur as “one who undertakes an enterprise, especially a contractor, acting as intermediatory between capital and labour”. While CEOs (Chief Executive Officers) also acquire power and wealth, but they do not usually have the hero image of entrepreneurs because they are managing businesses that someone else started.

      (3) Americans prefer free enterprise rather than capitalism to call business system. Free enterprise is the backbone of the USA. It’s responsible for their remarkable consumer marketplace and military dominance of the world today. With enterprise, hard work and a little luck, he/she might establish himself in a flourishing business. Farmer, bar owner, madam, blacksmith, mercantile magnate, etc. Preachers and teachers and natural-born Sheriffs also had a place. The thing that differentiates free enterprise from other business structures is that a free enterprise is founded on actual need on and grows as that need grows. Free enterprise grows peacefully to meet growing market needs. On the hand, capitalism is an economic, political and social system based on private ownership of property, business and industry, and directed towards making the greatest possible profits for successful organizations and people In a capitalist economic system most productive assets are held by private owners, and most decisions about production and distribution are made by the market rather than government command (Adhay, 2011).

      (4) The similar quality between Andrew Carnegie, Thomas Edison, Walt Disney, John D. Rockefeller, and Bill Gates. It has been said that if you were born in the United States of America you were 90% of the way towards becoming a success. By showing how these Great Americans have worked and lived, it will give great incite into what it takes to become successful in the USA. Andrew Carnegie who owns the Carnegie Steel Company, revolutionized steel production in the United States, Thomas Edison who invented electric light bulb, Walt Disney who owns Disney Land, John D. Rockefeller who owns Rockefeller University, General Education Board and the Rockefeller Foundation, and Bill Gates who owns Microsoft Corporations (Scottsdale, 2010). Their personal lives were fairly simple. They were men of few passions who lived for their work, and their great talent was organizing genius and drive for order, pursued with great single-mindedness and concentration. Their lives were absorbed by business and family, and later by organized giving. They created order, efficiency and planning with extraordinary success and sweeping vision.

    2. 1. Business is more supportive of freedom than government because business is competitive and every American has chance to be success through competition in business. And competition in business is believed to strengthen the ideal of equality of opportunity and encouraging hard work. Business is open to all and where success and status go to the swiftest person, regardless of social class. In other hand government is a monopoly of power and it is not open to all American.

      2. Entrepreneur more respected than CEOs because entrepreneur is the owner of the business and most of entrepreneurs in America begin their business from zero and they become success man. And they have more money and power. They spend much money to pay a CEO to manage their business. Mean while although success and rich CEO is not the owner of the business or company. They are workers who have special skill to manage a business.

      3. American prefer free enterprise rather than capitalism to call business system because free enterprise is more competitive in business and they believe competition is vitally important in preserving freedom.

      4. Andrew Carnegie is the owner of the Cernegie Stell Company, Thomas A. Edison is the inventor of electric light bulb, and Walt Disney is the owner of Disney Land, John. D Rockefeller is the owner of Rockefeller University, Standard Oil, General Educational, and The Rockefeller Foundation, Bill Gates is the owner of Microsoft Corporations. The similarity of them is they have rich and build a great company. They start their business from zero and they have succeed in their life because of hard work and until now their name become popular. They are heroes not only for American but also for people in other countries in the world.

    3. Dear sir,
Below is my assignment of CCU chapter 6, sorry cause I’m late to send it.

      1. Business more supportive of freedom than government, although government leaders are elected and business leaders are not. It is because business is more firmly based on competition than other institutions. Competition, accepted not only as a value, but also the major source of progress and prosperity, and the means for preserving individual freedom, equality of opportunity, and hard-work, flourish more in business than other institutions. Competition encourages hard-work. In business, the one who works harder is likely to win. And business is a race open to all, and success goes to the swiftest person, regardless of social status. Hence business is more supportive of freedom than government. [Parlindungan Pardede’s slide]

      2. Entrepreneurs more respected than CEOs because of these factors :
      1. They succeeded in building something great out of nothing.
      2. They provide working opportunities for many people.
      3. Entrepreneurs start a business but CEO is just managing a business for someone
      [parlindungan pardede’ s slide]

      3. Americans prefer free enterprise rather than capitalism to call business system because of capitalism is a free market economy system (not fair market), where anybody could easily monopoly the market because it is not regulated by government at all. Free Enterprise is allow anybody start their business, grow their business and expand their business within law guidance from the government to some extent. 4, After studying the biography of Andrew Carnegie, Thomas Edison, Walt Disney, John D. Rockefeller, and Bill Gates, the similar qualities that i find in them is all of them do a lot a hard work before they had success.

  26. American Business
As one of the most productive business countries in the world, USA keeps the business competition alive. Even though domestic economy isn’t getting better as expected, the American businessmen row the pedals to discover new places for either starting the business or purchasing their products. Most of my foreign friends in Jakarta have the same purpose: getting chance to open their own business in Indonesia. No matter what they do here, teaching, cooking, and even office work, all work seems a step stone to be businessmen. Surprisingly, Americans are more dominant in reaching the chances in Jakarta. For example, I have 5 friends, two Americans, a Canadian, and two British. At some points the Americans get business chances easier than the others. What make Americans so strong in business is because of support from government, people’s values, and qualities of life.

In USA, businesses are run by individuals. Ideally, government doesn’t have any interference in running business, accept enacted the regulations. This makes businessmen can compete each other by valuing service for customers. The service can be giving better product, cheaper product, bonuses along with product, and even warranty and other services for unsatisfactory. Since The American has built the country’s foundation by freedom, so, government managed the business law as fit as human’s freedom. USA doesn’t really apply government monopoly business. There are some fields run by government, individuals run them as well, but somehow it doesn’t become citizens’ preference. American business actually doesn’t separate from government, politics precisely. Along the history, businessmen give financial support to certain political party to get place in house of representative and even presidential position. Somehow, it doesn’t affect businessmen to get more business opportunity, but mostly for fame.

Americans value equality and hard –working. Americans accept differences. It’s proven by welcoming any races and nationality to come to US to get the same opportunity. Government manages integrated laws to create the equality among people. It’s shown when the government filed a bill about right protection for immigration and at the same time a bill about legal immigration to House of Representative. In other word, government opens the opportunity to people to build the country together. Hard-working is part of Americans’ lives. Since the history begun, Americans are known as people who struggle for freedom in new land. So it becomes the basic for Americans to explore new potential places in Asia to start their business. Some of my American friends have their business in Indonesian furniture and spices. They have small workshops in Yogyakarta and sell the goods in US and Europe. The reasons they chose Indonesia are because of cheap material and workers. Actually it’s not easy for them to start business and have workshops here in Indonesia. Honestly, Indonesia government takes advantages from foreigners by enacting higher fees in business process. By hard-work, in any ways, Americans succeed set their place in Indonesia for business.

This is probably small thing, but it affects to someone’s success, qualities. I wondered what make US can lead business in the world and most of Americans businessmen stand out. The answer is the qualities. I read the biographies of Andrew Carnegie, Thomas Edison, Walt Disney, John D. Rockefeller and Bill Gates. They are the most look-up people in American business from generations. What I learn from them that a person must have some qualities to have business success. They are visional, persistent, inventive, and optimistic. They came from different family background, some were rich and some were poor. But they have vision in their lives. They knew what they wanted in life and they pursued it optimistically. Did they get it instantly? No, in fact they learned the rope, started everything from the scratch. When any opportunities came, they optimistically grab them and persistently face all challenges. To make them different from others, inventive attitude is needed. And it won’t stop there. They share their success to people who want to learn about business. And interestingly, most of they became philanthropists. They have been actively involved in charity and social work to help the needy.

Having business is a way of people to escape from office working routine and getting their freedom. Americans are the most aggressive people in reaching their freedom and stating their ideas. History background and life values lead them to reach what they want. By having some qualities, like being visional, persistent, inventive, and optimistic, the prominent American businessmen for generations have proved that they could lead business around the world.

    2. The entrepreneur as business hero, they succeed in building something great out of nothing, provide working opportunities for many people, and also help the economy nation’s run. It’s perfect example of the American idea of equality of opportunity in action at that time CEOs acquire power and wealth, but they do not usually have the hero image of entrepreneurs because they are managing business that someone else started. Although most Americans admire the earning power of entrepreneurs and would probably not want to put a limit on their income, they are less generous in their view of CEOs.
    3. Many Americans believe that competition is vitally important in preserving freedom so closely is competitive business associated with freedom in the minds of most Americans that the term free enterprise, rather than the term capitalism, is most often used to describe the American business system.
